Some might think this love story begins sadly, but Adriana and Kevin have always felt a higher hand at work. In 2020, Kevin’s wife Nicolette passed away; in 2023, Adriana’s husband Eric passed away. Seeking community and support, they met at Camp Widow in San Diego in the summer of 2023.

Adriana and Kevin became fast friends and confidants, bonded by shared experience of loss and a kinship forged through a refiner’s fire. While Kevin will say it was love at first jaw drop, Adriana will say friendship grew first — and from that friendship their relationship deepened. Gradually they formed a partnership that has carried them through trials, setbacks, and the challenges of parenting young children.

In the summer of 2024 Kevin relocated to Arizona and the two began blending their families. Today they live in Gilbert, Arizona with their five children, twenty-three chickens, four goats, and two dogs. Life remains challenging, but relying on each other’s strengths and valuing the present is what holds them together. Their love is unwavering and tender, and their shared understanding of hard moments keeps them grounded and moving forward.
